Return & Refund Policy
Please review our return and refund terms before purchasing your new outboard from Wharf Power Outboards.
Straightforward Return Terms
Eligible return requests must be made within 30 days of receiving your order.
Returned outboards must remain unused, uninstalled and in resalable condition.
Returns must be approved before an outboard is shipped back to us.
30-Day Return Policy
Wharf Power Outboards accepts eligible return requests made within 30 days after the customer receives the product.
Because outboard motors are high-value mechanical products, all returns require prior approval from Wharf Power Outboards.
Please contact us before returning any product. Products sent back without prior return authorization may not be accepted.
Conditions for an Eligible Return
To qualify for a standard return, the product must generally meet the following conditions:
- The return request is made within 30 days of delivery.
- The outboard has not been installed on a boat.
- The outboard has not been operated or used.
- The product has not been damaged, modified or altered.
- The motor is returned with the original components, accessories, manuals and documentation supplied with it.
- The product is in a condition suitable for inspection and resale.
- Proof of purchase from Wharf Power Outboards can be provided.
Before Installing Your Outboard
We strongly recommend checking the model, horsepower, shaft length and other specifications before installation. Once a motor has been installed or operated, it may no longer qualify for a standard change-of-mind return.
Items That May Not Be Eligible for Return
Unless the product is defective, damaged on arrival, incorrectly supplied, or applicable law provides otherwise, we may be unable to accept standard returns for:
- Outboards that have been installed
- Outboards that have been operated or used
- Products damaged after delivery
- Modified or altered products
- Products missing supplied components or accessories
- Products returned in materially different condition

Who Pays for Return Shipping?
For an approved return resulting from a customer’s change of mind, ordering the wrong model, or another reason that is not the result of an error by Wharf Power Outboards, the customer is responsible for return transportation costs.
Due to the size, weight and value of outboard motors, we recommend using an appropriate trackable and insured freight or shipping service.
If we confirm that you received an incorrect product, or that a return is required because of an error on our part, we will provide instructions regarding the appropriate return arrangements.
Inspect Your Shipment Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect their shipment as soon as it arrives. If the packaging or outboard shows visible shipping damage, photograph the condition of the shipment and notify us as soon as possible.
If you receive a product different from the product shown on your order confirmation, contact us before installing or operating it.
Do Not Install a Damaged or Incorrect Motor
If you believe the wrong outboard was delivered or the motor was damaged during transportation, please keep the product and packaging in their received condition while we review the issue.
How Refunds Are Processed
Once an approved return has been received, the product will be inspected to confirm that it meets the applicable return conditions.
If the return is approved following inspection, the applicable refund will be processed back through the original payment method whenever possible.
Please allow additional time for your bank, card issuer or payment provider to post a processed refund to your account.
Original shipping charges and customer-paid return transportation costs are generally not refundable on change-of-mind returns, except where required by applicable law or where the return results from an error for which Wharf Power Outboards is responsible.
Manufacturer Warranty Claims
A mechanical or manufacturing issue that develops after an outboard has been installed or used may be handled differently from a standard product return.
New outboards may be subject to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms. Warranty coverage, duration, exclusions and claim procedures depend on the particular manufacturer and product.
Please contact us with your order details, motor model, serial number and information about the issue if you believe you have a warranty claim.
Need to Cancel an Order?
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.
If the order has not yet entered shipment or fulfillment, we will review whether it can be cancelled before dispatch. Once an order has shipped, it may need to be handled as a return under the applicable terms of this policy.
Your Legal Rights
This policy is intended to explain Wharf Power Outboards’ standard return and refund procedures. It does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Canadian or provincial consumer protection law.
